Movin' for Mary Mary Demere Norris died of ALS on Sept. 11, 2008. We are walking in her memory so others do not have to suffer. Mary Norris was diagnosed with AlS in Febrary of 2007. She was already having difficulty with her speech, swallowing and her body strength was gone. Thanks to Dr. Jackson and the ALS Society she lived more comfortably with her feeding peg and BI-PAP than we dreamed possible. As a group, we even made a trip to Tennessee in October of 2007. She lived out her days with my father, Larry Norris, as her care giver in her childhood home, surrounded by her family and brother. She was supported by the entire community of Water Valley, Texas. Vista Care Hospice helped care for her, and she stayed in her lift chair, still knowing where everything in the house was located. We walk in her memory! |
